New YFM National Leadership Team

Late last year, amid the COVID-ravaged 2020, YFM transitioned a new National Leadership Team to take the reins of the organisation. The new team was selected from previous volunteers and newcomers – all chosen for their select skills to help move the organisation to new heights over the next few years.

If you want to read more about each of the new NLT, snapshots of each are below, and their more detailed bios can be found on the YFM website.

I am passionate about the agriculture industry and helping people become more involved in the food they eat. I think this comes from learning the stories behind the growing, processing and production of food – which is where YFM fits in, as an agent to help me connect young people to their food systems.

I joined YFM to meet and work alongside like-minded people, share my skills learned over 10 years in major event management and learn how I can enact meaningful change on the food system through habitual changes in my daily life.

I first joined YFM as a volunteer in 2017, upon returning to Melbourne's foodie scene after living and working in the UK. I was part of the Upstart program and loved talking to people with similar interests and of course sharing great food at weekly catch-ups! I continued to be involved with YFM where I could, however this was limited by moving to regional Victoria. I am now excited to be back enjoying Melbourne’s food and part of the National Leadership Team.

YFM joins two of my great passions – helping develop the leadership skills and confidence in young people and advocating for the food industry to grow and thrive. I aim to imbue all my work with generosity, hard-work and humour, and the opportunity to work with a dedicated network of young people who also share these values was too good to pass up.

We encourage you to get in touch if you want to chat about all things food, youth and everything in between.
