Shaun Lindhe

Tell us a bit about you!

I am born and raised in Melbourne and have a strong passion for our food industry and helping those who grow, prepare and cook the amazing food that ensures we are healthy and happy.

I have worked with vegetable growers at AUSVEG since 2014 as Communications Manager to ensure our industry has the most accurate, informative and entertaining content across a variety of channels. I also work to ensure the industry’s causes are broadcast through the media to ensure their voices are heard and taken seriously by city and regional audiences.

I have also been involved in different programs to help develop the skills and knowledge of the industry’s young up-and-comers, leading study tours, working with young people in leadership courses and acting as a mentor to future industry leaders.

Why YFM?

YFM joins two of my great passions – helping develop the leadership skills and confidence in young people and advocating for the food industry to grow and thrive. I aim to imbue all my work with generosity, hard-work and humour, and the opportunity to work with a dedicated network of young people who also share these values was too good to pass up.

Favourite food memory/experience?

I have had the great pleasure of visiting farms across Australia and speaking with farmers about their passion for growing high-quality produce and their desire to protect the land through environmentally sustainable practices. Every chat among healthy crops in the open air is one to savour!

Last meal you would eat before the apocalypse?

Lasagna paired with a glass of Tuscan red wine and any dessert that has white chocolate.
