If you’re ready to do something real, something that feels good not only because it’s fun, but also because you’re building the world you want to live in, we’d love to have you as part of the YFM community.

Youth Food Movement Australia run amazing food education projects for (and by) Gen Y. Our volunteer-led chapters across Australia empower young people food skills, knowledge and experiences that help create a food system we can all believe in.

Volunteers are the stuffing to the YFM turkey. The vanilla custard to our cannoli. The pasta sheets to our lasagne.

There are two ways to be involved with YFM as a volunteer.

1. Event volunteers.

Event volunteers are the awesome people who bring YFM projects to life. If you’re keen to do one-off events where you can rock up for a day or evening, get trained up, skilled up, meet some awesome people and help get some epic food events off the ground, then this option is for you. Check out our projects in the main menu for some of the recent events you could be part of.

Sign up using the form below and we’ll let you know by newsletter the next time an opportunity arises. If you’re free and interested for that day, all you need to do it shoot us back an email to confirm.

2. Leadership team volunteers.

All our projects and events are organised by a core team of food-loving do-ers. It's these guys who are coming up with, designing, marketing, organising and carrying off our projects. It's a big job, but it's one of the best out there.

We work from cafes, kitchen tables, parks and Skype windows and are fuelled by a hearty diet of inspiration and creativity. We don’t care about formal qualifications or fancy skills, if you’re someone who wants to dig your fingers into YFM projects over a number of months and help create, organise and build stuff that’s cool, then we’d love to have you as part of the team. (And if you have bonus fancy skills anyway, that’s sweet, let us know.)
