Did you know you can…

  • Pick up organic, seasonal and locally-sourced groceries in your local area this weekend?
  • Do Sunday brunch at a cafe that has a direct connection with a farm?
  • Do a date-night dinner that uses all of your odd bits of leftovers to reduce food waste?
  • BYO containers for delectable lunchtime meals close to the office?
  • Do after-work drinks at a sustainable, plastic-free pub?

The power of being a food-conscientious human is at your fingertips! YFM has tasted, carefully curated and mapped the best of sustainable Sydney city into a convenient little guide – Pocket Power. To celebrate the launch of Pocket Power, join us on this delightful night of demos, talks, games, beers and wraps!

On the night:

  • Get hands-on and find the answers to your ethical food concerns at our panel of food industry insiders. We’ll chat about sneaky ways to make your fresh food last forever and how to turn the forgotten vegetables at the back of your fridge into a stir fry, instead of sending them off to landfill. We’ll even talk about how you too can create a hot, sweaty compost (sexy!) in your background or balcony.
  • Awe in our wide array of demos – learn innovative food hacks by crafty food makers, get the inside scoop on what it takes to reduce food waste and reuse leftovers, and gain simple techniques for growing your own herbs and veggies at home.
  • Grab a raffle ticket and win big – we’ve got some amazing prizes!
  • Relish some delicious wraps and savour refreshing craft beers thanks to Wayward Brewing Co, Batch Brewing Company, The Apple Thief and Yulli’s Brews. (Free wrap and drink with entry!)
